Smarter Planning for Movie-goers
MovieMax is a theatre that issues mobile tickets and provides easy ticket management for group bookings and scheduling.
UX/UI Project Overview
This UX UI project involved finding solutions to two key issues: movie ticket management for group bookings and movie scheduling for frequent movie goers. The project involved identifying pain points, building user journey maps, wireframing, and building hi-fi prototypes for the mobile app MovieMax.
Personas & User Journeys
Here, I focused on identifying what people are looking for when using an app to book movie tickets. I then distilled the information and decided to work with two key personas — Lilly and Ravi — and understand their user journeys.
What does MovieMax aim to do?
1. Our app will let users split tickets and costs, which will affect event planners by streamlining ticket management. We will measure effectiveness by taking ratings and feedback from users who utilize this feature.
2. Our app will let users schedule their movies, which will affect the user and their family by planning movie days well in advance. We will measure effectiveness by taking ratings and feedback from the users who utilize this feature.
Building the Wireframes
Next, I applied rapid sketching techniques to dole out several versions of each screen. I identified key elements that would be a part of the digital version. I then built the digital wireframes on figma and tested the lo-fi prototype to refine it further.

Before building the hi-fi prototype, I first created a Design System that I could use across my project. This ensured that my elements were consistent in terms of design and functionality. Then came the hi-fi prototype.
